History Of Beautillion Militare

The Beautillion Militaire concept was developed as a local response to Kappa Alpha Psi's national service directive known as the Guide Right program, conceived in 1922 by Brother Leon W. Steward with the purpose of assisting high school seniors to choose and pursue useful careers. The program in its modern form (known as "Beautillion Militaire") originated with the Charlotte (NC) Alumni Chapter in 1976 and was later adopted by many other chapters, including Greensboro (NC) Alumni.

The Greensboro (NC) Alumni Chapter (GAC) was chartered on June 11, 1946, and has a strong history of community involvement. The chapter established its own Beautillion Militaire program, which has been operating for over 40 years.

The program's core purpose is to expose high school senior males ("Beaus") to leadership training, cultural awareness, and scholarship opportunities through concentrated and systematic efforts.

Formal Gala Presentation

The program culminates in a formal presentation gala that showcases the young men's accomplishments and talents to the community.

This event also serves as a major fundraising vehicle, with all net proceeds contributing to scholarship awards for the participating Beaus to assist with their pursuit of higher education.

The program has successfully issued hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships over its history, with outstanding graduates often returning to serve as mentors for future participants.
